Our plan is to release the second hand goods software for commercial use within the next six weeks.

Our development team is working with NSW Police on testing our new secondhand goods software. NSW Police are the leaders in this area and complying with their technology interface in crucial for any software company working with secondhand goods.

Our work is well advanced. Ensuring we are fully compliant is the next step before we contemplate beta release.

Integrated with our Point of Sale software, our secondhand goods facilities have been designed for jewellers, bike retailers and others trading in secondhand good.

We have been careful to ensure that our new secondhand goods facilities meet police reporting and EDI requirements.  NSW Police are the most advanced in this area and their standards have offered us good guidance.

Our secondhand goods facilities will be useful across several marketplaces with jewellers, newsagents and bike retailers all faced with secondhand goods opportunities.  From within our software, our retailers will be able to track necessary details when trading in secondhand goods and, in doing so, fulfil their legal obligations.

The beta release of our secondhand goods software will be released next month.

Since writing here last week about our new second hand goods software, we have received some excellent feedback from people quite knowledgeable in the second-hand goods space.  This feedback and further comments from our users is helping is finesse our second-hand goods software offer.

This is another reason we blogged pre-release about our work in this area.  We are not experienced with second-hand goods and felt we needed a broader pool of advice especially given the legal requirements for handling second-hand products.

Our open and consultative approach on this is how we like to go about software development.

Meeting police standards on second hand goods

We have completed the considerable work necessary to comply with police requirements around electronic data handling of second-hand goods for the latest enhancements to our point of sale software. The regulations in NSW are regarded as the most comprehensive, this is why we decided to build our second-hands goods software to their high standard.

The project has taken close to a man-year to complete.

We know from recent previews with prospective users well versed in second-hand goods requirements that we have something quite unique available in our software. We are excited for the beta release in a few weeks for this will be the real test.

Our research has revealed that our second-hands goods facilities will appeal across several marketplaces: jewellers, bike retailers, gift shops and newsagents as we have customers in each channel offering second-hand goods services.
